Elephant structures Carolina Carport Refused to refund my deposit on carport Boone, North Carolina

I ordered a carport through Elephant Structures which has apparantly gone by the name of Carolina Carports also . Their website is Two days later I was surfing the web when I came across some of thier  reviews and complaints. I then called within my 3 days to cancel my order. I knew it might be a problem so I tried to get an E-mail regarding my cancelation in which 3 people couldn't do. I called time and time again but was told Heather was the only one that could refund my money. I really don't think a Heather even works thier. I think it is just a fictitious code word. It wasn't until I got ahold of the North Carolina Attorney General. Within 2 days I recieved my refund and it wasn't by Heather. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BUSINESS OR ANY OTHER OF THIER AKAs. They have had many numerous types of complaints.

I am not going to agree or defend how good or bad this company is and why you wanted your deposit back.  But according to your title they didn't refund your deposit, yet in your report they did.  Hmmm...I wonder if see anything wrong with that.

Deposits as a rule are NOT refundable, even if you go to their web site it states the following.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, in most cases you may cancel your order within three (3) days by emailing us at or by calling our customer service department at (828) 355-7120. Please note, because of the costs involved with processing and preparing your order, your deposit is non-refundable and will not be returned, but please read complete Terms & Conditions with your order.

I underlined the part that may be of interest to you. 

So you did what is the equivalent of "running home to mommy" to get your money back.  Unless you have something else in writing that states otherwise, They could have held to their terms and not refunded a single cent.  But most likely they refunded it because it would have cost them more in time and effort.

As a suggestion(that I am sure you aren't going to follow) for the future perhaps you should actually do all of your research BEFORE you hand over any money or sign any agreements.  Because there will be a time when "mommy" won't help you.
