First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation Misrepresentation regarding coverage; Charging More for Renewal Policies and Getting LESS! Ripoff Van Nuys California

I purchased a home in Atlanta, GA and chose First American as my home warranty professionals. I'd reported my roof leaking and Cook Construction came to investigate the problem. I paid the $50 (which I was originally told would be $45). The man looked in my closet where the leak was discovered, walked around my home (on the outside). I asked him if he would be going into the attic or upon the roof to inspect the leak; he looked at me as if I was making an impossible request. He went upon the roof, I heard him banging around and came back down in about 5 minutes.

I call the warranty company and requested they send someone ELSE out to look at my roof. They sent the same man, who arrived with a teenager. He went on the roof again, hammered around the spot of the leak. Later that month, my renewal notice came in the mail and I call First American to get additional information regarding the renewal. I asked the person on the line if I would have the same coverage as the previous warranty. She said yes and with the $50 upgrade, you will also receive cosmetic coverage to most appliances. I told her I only wanted to make sure the garage doors were included. She said, "Yes. You will have the same coverage as your last policy and the additional coverage."

I called to request another roofer come out to look at my roof again and was told my roof was not covered in this renewal policy. I informed me that it was represented to me "before" I paid for the renewal, that everything that was covered in the first warranty was included in the renewal.

They essentially told me "too bad". the person did not know what they were talking about and if I looked at my contract, it said the roof was not covered. Of course, this was after I renewed. I argued the fact that the company misrepresented themselves by telling me the roof was covered and the fact that the previous roofer did not fufill his obligation to fix my roof. I believe this company willfully misrepresents their warranties; have people pay for them and neglects to cover their obligations.

I believe that not only constitute willful misrepresentation, but also fraud.;
