I bought my Hewlett-Packard Vista Home Premium Pavillion a year and one month ago from a Best Buy in San Antonio, Texas. I spent about $600, within eight months my hard drive crashed. I phoned HP expecting to get my computer replaced since after all I would have thought that a new computers hard drive would have lasted much longer that this, but was told after hours on the phone with tech support that my only option would be to have my computer shipped back to them so they could replace my hard drive.
My computer came back with everything completely wiped out of it and returned to factory default, not too pleased but my fault b/c I didn't back up everything. I was relieved though that my computer was back to normal, within three months: more problems, this time my HP is without sound, hoping that the problem was just my speakers, I replaced them. No luck, still no sound. After trying two more sets of speakers from friends, I realize that again, the problem is the computer.
I should have called HP immediately , but I did not feel like spending several hours on the phone with Tech Support, I decided to let it go for the moment. One month later, I turn on my computer and find a completely blank, black screen, it will NOT boot up. Livid, I phone tech support again, I am on the phone this time bouncing back and forth between people for an hour, finally am told that my motherboard is fried, shocked, I ask for my money back, citing that this computer is BARELY a year old, and already I have had three problems, two of which I consider to be major, I am told that they will not replace my Lemon, instead I am Again told to ship the HP back and they will replace the mother board and sound. If HP cannot find better products to go into their computers, they should not sell them, I spent my income tax on this computer; thinking that HP was a reliable brand, I will never spend another dime on HP, if I hadn't purchased an extended warranty for this lemon, I would be out of luck.
I am very confident that when my HP is returned I will continue to have more problems, that is why I would like my money back, because this is insane, what an inconvenience, hanging on the phone for hours, waiting for the box to ship back the computer, taking it to a shipping store, and then waiting several days for it to return. I made a big mistake buying HP, one that I will NEVER make again, save your money, and do your research or you will be in the same boat that I am in.
BTW I am writing this report on my old backup computer,( MY HP is Again in the shop being repaired) I have to have a backup with my HP because I work from home, and take college courses over the internet, and it is so unreliable that I have to rely on this eight year old computer, which is ten times better than my HP, I wish that I could say what brand my other computer is but I am sure I am not allowed to , however I will give you a hint: I live in Texas, and I bought it from Austin. Pretty sure you know the brand.
