Hughes Net Hughes Network Systems Canceled Service within the 30 days like contract said, poor signal, and got charged $495.48. Over 2 months later and my money has still not been refunded. Germantown, Maryland

  I had Hughesnet internet installed on 7/12/2012 for my parents. Tech informed us that we had 30 days to cancel service if not happy and we would not be charged anything. After 3 days of service, signal quality was just too poor and we needed internet for business reasons. I called and cancelled service on 7/19/2012. I was then informed they would send me a box to return the programmer and parts back to company. A month goes by and still no box. I called again and they said cancellation was still being processed(someone screwed up..duh). Finally the box come on 8/22/2012 and send it all back. Then the bank statement comes and there is a charge of $495.48 on it. Due to this unexpected charge the account was overdrawn. They are on a fixed income and only deposit what is needed to cover bills. When I called to question it, the person from India on the other line said we would only get partial money back because the equipment was returned in time and we cancelled after 30 days. On 8/28/2012 after almost an hour on the phone and speaking to several others in India, A supervisor confirmed that all money would be refunded within 1-7 bus. days.

Today is now 9/17/2012 and still no money so I called back again to India( I was told they could not transfer me to anyone in the USA), I was then told that I was supposed to call back on 8/30 to get the money credited back to the acct, which I was never told. So I get put on hold again and then told that it will be 1-7 business days to get refunded. We will see. Meanwhile my parents are still waiting on their money and I have had to hear "Oh I am so sorry for the inconvienence" about 50 times.
