I bought a bed from Ikea, Carson, California. When we get it home and start to assemble it we realize it is the wrong size. We put the bed back in original packaging and seal it all up. We returned to Ikea the next day, spoke to store manager and he would not do anything!
The bed is unused and in sellable condition. Why do they advertise on tv and all over the store that if you are not
completely satisfied with your purchase bring back with a receipt within 90 days!!!
We tried the store in Costa Mesa too, they were nicer but still would not take the bed back only the mid beams which is only $10 vs the $431.92 we paid. The boxes are still sitting in my garage and I'm still fighting this until I get my money back. This is horrible service, I will never shop at Ikea again!!!

I think it is against the Federal maybe even state law to resell a used mattress

IF your bed had a mattress in it, I think it is against the federal and possibly state law to return a used mattress and a bed.
I am also wondering if you looked at the outside of the packaging container that the bed was in and if it did not give the proper size and dimensions there?"
Also, IKEA is a SWEDISH-owned company and they might even have their own policies regarding the return of bedding.
Once the packaging is open, they consider it used.
And with this bad economy, I have noticed that more and more stores are reluctant to give any sort of refund...
Why in the world would you pay $431.92 at Ikea when you could have gone to Big Lots or to a discount furniture store and gotten what you wanted without having to guess at what was in the (expletive-deleted ) box?Especially a bed you have to put together yourself????? I would have checked it in the store before I ever got home! It should have said on the box how big it was!
Especially with the BAD economy.
I am not trying to tell you how to spend your money just that you should maybe try to save as much of it as possible. Because there are going to be very bad times financially comiing!
