Bought ORHP "Silver Plan" for $ 450,- + $ 25,- extra for the refrigerator.

Called OR in order to get a dripping faucett at the bathtub fixed. "Call Us Plumbing" technician reported: "rusty chrome ring at bathtub drain and discoloration of the bathtub, faucett must have been dripping for a long time"

Actually the bathtub in the second bathroom looks the same and that faucett does not drip. coverage was denied, case closed.

when I called about the dripping water dispenser of the refrigerator I was given a 4 hour "window" by "Service Time". operator told me around 11 am "you are going to be the first one in the afternoon" after waiting for about 3 hours it was: "you are the last one on the list" waited a total of about 5 hours, so this company is not even able to come within their "4 hour window".

technician pulled out the water dispenser, put everything back and asked me to pay him the $ 55,- fee. I asked him to show me that it worked. at that moment he admitted that he had not fixed anything. he wrote into his report " Found broken tubing at water dispenser. Someone cut tubing its too short tubing needs to be replaced"

basically, he was reporting that I had willfully damaged the water dispenser, put everything back and then called the warranty company. when I talked to OR they told me that the report that they received said "Tubing was removed and is missing"

Coverage was denied.

I am asking myself what reason a contractor should have to write something like that into the report. If they would just fix what is broken, the warranty company would pay them but obviously it is their goal to write something into the report that would lead to the denial of the repair request.

Stay away from these scammers and don't buy their plans !

Update: "Service fee" is actually an "Opinion fee"

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

After I explained to OR what kind of service their technicians provided, OR still insisted that I should pay $ 110 for "trade calls".

No explanation why they believed that their tech was right (he stated that the faucet had been dripping for a long time despite the fact that the bathtub in the 2nd bathroom was showing the same rust and discolorations without a dripping faucet)

No explanation why they believed that the other tech who came to fix the water dispenser was right. (Actually I had called a company by myself after OR refused to fix my refrigerator. this tech found that the OR tech was wrong, he could see that the original tubing was there and had just shrunken a little bit)

No comment in regards to the discrepency between the two reports (one saying that the water line had been cut, the other one saying that it was missing completely).

OR just sent me a form, checking a box that basically said "You have to pay the service fee, if you don't pay you lose your coverage for the future"

When I called OR I was told that the $ 55,- are basically for the technicians opinion, no matter if he performs any services. They should call it "Opinion fee" and make it clear in their contract that it does not matter if the technicians opinion is nonsense or not, it has to be paid.
