We ordered a book from Oxmoor House last year (which we paid for). This year, they sent us another book which we didn't order. We didn't pay the bill (because we never asked them to send it in the first place) and now they keep sending us overdue notices). A few other people I know have had the same thing happen to them (including my mother-in-law). I think this is a pervasive scam that Oxmoor house is running. I wonder how many people actually pay for their crappy books? (The one they sent was "Decorating your home with PC"; they wanted $30 for it!!) They're based in Birmingham, AL. I hope someone on the "bunko" squad in Birmingham sees this and decides to give these people what they deserve. I'll be willing to provide any evidence they need (as well as my mother-in-law's).

I have ordered Victorian Christmas book from Oxmoor house for about six years. I have never had any problem receiving my book on time and I made installment payments after I received the book each year.
Sorry you have had trouble with them - they've done me right.

I found your site through a search of "Oxmoor House" and "scam" on google.com. I received a letter on 12/28/01 from Oxmoor House threatening to report me to a credit reporting agency if I didn't pay them for a book I didn't order from them. I sent the URL of the Oxmoor House complaint on your site to the Florida and Alabama Attorney Generals' office along with my complaint against Oxmoor House. Your site has been very helpful to me.
