Oxmoor House ripoff sending unsolicited books Des Moines Iowa

As reported by several others, this company is still sending unsolicited books (etc.) to consumers after they make the huge mistake of ordering and purchasing one item. They continue to do this even AFTER settling a class action lawsuit against them for this scam (and paying a fine that was WAY too small--it it had been larger, perhaps they would have stopped the scam).

Just so you know, in California the law says that if you receive unordered products in the mail, they are a gift to you. You can do what you want to with them. You don't have to pay for them and you don't have to return them (see California Civil Code Section 1584.5). This company may have buried some type of consent in small type on the first order form, but I would let THEM try to prove it. I doubt that they will push this, given that other courts have found this to be a scam. I plan to continue ignoring their bills and throw them in the trash.
