Progressive Insurance Claims adjuster Anthony Feliciano Deceitful, Devious,Smug Mayfield Village Ohio

My daughter, visiting from Virginia, was running an errand for me on 15 Oct 2018. She was in the extreme left-hand turn lane when a driver to her right cut into her lane. She honked and braked but the other driver kept coming and clipped my right front fender with his left rear fender. My daughter did not have a phone.

The driver's wife stayed in the car phoning Progressive Ins while my daughter and the other driver, Harold Weber of Penacola, FL, exchanged information. When Mr Weber started to phone 911 his wife screamed at him that Progressive Insurance had told them not to call the police if there were no injuries. My daughter felt the nature of the damages made the cause of the accident self-evident so she didn't protest.

During our initial phone conversation Anthony Feliciano was very cordial. The next day his tone became smug. He informed me that his insured agreed with the description of the damages but his account of the accident disagreed and, of course, without a police report, it was a "he said she said" and of course they had to side with their insured.

On the third day Mr. Feliciano almost gleefully told me that they had decided that my daughter was at fault. Now I understand why they didn't want a police report.

I will add that when I contacted the Florida Highway Patrol they said they should have been called and were incredulous when informed that Progressive Ins had told their insured not to call.

I was advised to file a claim with my insurance company, and, of course they would find Progressive's insured, Harold Weber, at fault.

I have researched Progressive and that this attitude prevails with, literally thousands of complaints made to Consumer Affairs .

I have also learned that this company has more complaints to various state regulation agencies than ay other insurance company. I have added my complaint to the State of Florida.

It appears to me that denying claims and underestimating damages when they can be proven liable is par for the course with this company. I have worked as a licenssed casualy insurance agent and can honestly say that Progressive outranks any company I have ever worked with when it comes to deceit (fraud?) and general rudeness (gleefully smug?) PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE OPERATES IN THE GRAY AREA OF THE LAW.
