rentalcars.com Dropped the ball and abandoned me Manchester UK

I rented a car using RENTALCARS.COM in Paris airport.

As instructed, I downloaded their android APP.

On the pick up day, I was being delayed in travel.  I signed on to the app and changed my 4pm arrival time to 7pm.  The app gave me a message "WE ARE WORKING ON YOUR CHANGE, WILL CONFIRM AT 6PM"   AT 6pm, there was no confirmation but the message said " "WE ARE WORKING ON YOUR CHANGE, WILL CONFIRM AT 9PM."

I got the the car rental place close to 8pm.  And I was told that I was a NO SHOW, there was no communication from the RENTALCARS.COM and my reservation was cancelled.   AS the rental company was overbooked they had nothing to offer me.

Now it was almost 9pm in Paris, I have no car, no place to go with my son and I am talking on the phone to RENTALCARS.COM.

I pressed them on the fact that took all the right actions, and the app did not do it's job.  Did not communicate to the car rental company or to me!   None of this was my fault!

THe only answer the company rep gave me,  "SORRY WE UNDERSTAND BUT THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO.  WE GENERALLY NEVER REFUND MONEY BUT IN THIS CASE WE ARE OFFERING YOU A REFUND"    It's was now 2 hours later and gettng close to the car rental closing time.  The clerk at the car rental must have taken pity on me and rented me a car.

I went through hell for no fault of my own, and the company would neither admit their mistake nor move a finger to help me even though I have paid for the rental in advance.

I will never deal with them again.  There are many choices in car rental market, I suggest that if you are reading this, pick another company to book your car travel.
