I have filed a complaint against Sallie Mae with the Better Business Bureau.

I am disputing there claim of having an outstanding balances on my account with additional late fees of $20.00 dollars attached to my payments each month. This issue has been going for about two years now. I was receiving harassing phone calls from Sallie Mae they were being very disrespectful to me.

Since, I filed a complaint with the BBB, the phone calls has stopped. I will not give up the fight they are wrong and they are ripping off too many students who have loans with them.

Anyone who wants to file a claim against Sallie Mae with Better Business Bureau needs to go online and file the complaint it is easy and faster way to get a response from the BBB. Better Business Bureau location to file your claim against Sallie Mae is at the Moosic, PA 18507 location. It is important to file your claim in the same city and town where Sallie Mae is located.

I hope this helps.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Depends...

AUTHOR: Des - (U.S.A.)

If the loan you have is government, they legally can call you all they want because they own the loan and it is not a 3rd party. Sallie Mae does not have to follow the FDCPA call guidelines if this is the case so all those calls can continue. If you have a dispute with your payment and late fee, all you need to do is ask them to get a copy of your statements if you do not have then. Obviously, if your payment is late, you are going to get a late fee every month. SOMETIMES!! They will work with you and change you payment due date if you are unable to pay before the late fee is applied. And trust me, filing with the BBB will do nothing. And you did state that they were disrespectful to you but that is just your side. I had to be disrespectful many times when the borrower became rude. Are you sure you were perfect? Why don't you just pay your payment on time and then this wouldn't be a problem?
