Salt River Project SRP disconnect the service, and I paid the bill the same day but will not reconnect the service till next day. Phoenix Arizona

I was surprised by an employee from SRP morning of 09/25/2008, he was at in fornt of my house to disconnect my electricity. I asked him if he can call the office, and tell them to hold the disconnection till I go and pay the bill at that moment. The employee respond to me and said he can not, there is an order to disconnect the electricity. I told him that I did not get a disconnection letter in the mail, and he said that the company called me and left a message, which I did not get. The employee told that I can pay the bill and call the company, and they will send someone to take the device off today. I paid the bill when I got home I called SRP, and told them that I paid the bill and my service was disconnected. I was surprise to hear the employee telling me that he will schedule reconnection for the next day. I was furious and I told him that since it is too early in the day and I paid the bill already that he need to send someone today. i also mentioned that I have children at home, and we will not have A/C or electricity to cook food. I spoke to the supervisor too, and she said that they cannot process anymore orders for reconnection today because dispatchers are busy.

SRP usually send a disconnection letter, and they come to the house leaving a red tag to give people time to pay till 5 pm. But this time employee handed me the red tag with out any further notice. I have a 12 years old son with allergy problem, and A/C have to be on at all times, and I cannot open the windows per his doctor.

In addition to the charges SRP charges of $65.00 as if they do not charge people enough money for energy that comes from nature most of it anyway, especially when there is only one income coming to the house, and at this crucial time of economy we are in. I think SRP are getting away with it.
