May 19th, 2016, drove 30 miles, one way, to the Sears store in Montgomery,Al to replace a craftsman 1/2" drive ratchet that quit working. Store refused to replace, stated that I would have to take the tool to Birmingham, Al. which is 130 miles from my home. What happened to Sears customer service. This tool was purchased with a nation wide advertised "lifetime" replacement warranty, and now the Sears store in Montgomery,Al. is refusing to honor that warranty. I guess I am stuck with a broke tool, or I have drive 260 miles with gas at $2.09 a gallon to replace a $30.00 ratchet.

I have called Sears customer service, craftsman customer service, and received absolutly no results. All they tell me is to go back to the same store. Duh, yeah, lets make another 60 mile round trip, so the same moron can refuse to honor the warranty. Thank you for input, and I really to thank you, but sears customer service is a joke. They claimed they would have a supervisor call me back within the hour. That was 4 hours ago. Guess I will go to Lowes and get a Kobalt.

Craftsman is lifetime warranted against failure. They can either fix the ratchet or replace it, no questions asked. If the problem is it just quit working all Sears stores with a tool section have a repair quit where they change out the guts f the ratchet. If the ratchet is to old and no longer supported they pull a new one from the shelf and ring it up under warranty. You can call Sears customer service and they will ship you a new ratchet if the store doesn't have a new ratchet or kit in stock. Personally I would call customer service and raise up the apocalypse over this and how you were treated. Sears is struggling and the representative in the store gave you a bad resolution to your problem that could force you to switch to snap on and I'd tell them that.
