Select Home Warranty is a scam

They provide no service whatsoever

They are not professionals and will not give you anything.

They have no escalation procedure, you cannot talk to a manger. They will hang up on you if you complain.

I signed a contract with them after a ton of promises of good service. 

The first claim I filed for my dryer. It took them 3 weeks to assign a technician. They assigned 4 technicians who refused to come to inspect the dryer because they told me that this company does not pay them.

Finally I got one on my own. I paid the servie fees ($90) - which is higher than $45 that I should pay if Select Home Warranty sent their assigned technician.

The dryer was not repairable. Select home warranty offered me $100 for the dryer. I called them and said this is not acceptable. They said this is what we can offer - please check section 8 in your contract. Section 8 had a word called 'depreciated value'. This gives them the complete authority to pay you pennies for your appliance.

I purchased a used Dryer and paid in cash. I asked SHW to pay me the $100 and they wanted an invoice. I called the guy who sold it to me and he hand-written an invoice. I sent it to them and they did not accept it. I asked them to call the seller to confirm. They did not. I called the seller and he printed a computer printed invoice. I sent it to them and they again refused it and asked me for a proof of payment. I told them I paid in cash, they said we cannot pay you the $100.

Second claim was about my Dishwasher. They could not assign a technician for 4 weeks. I called them 5 times at least and no response.

I got a technician on my own and paid the service fee (which is usually much higher than Select Home Warranty service fees). 

The Dishwasher deemed not repairable. They offered me a $100. I already paid $75 for the servie fee, so I am getting $25 from them. I purchased a new Dishwasher for $900.

I am going to cancel my contract. This company has no value and they just give you hard time and treat you very badly.

 hi, We'll I went thru same thing first time I claim, when my heater wasn't working, it's been 4 days and I am still without heating. I live in Michigan, here average temperature is 35-50 degree and I requested them to prioritize this because I have a 5yr old son who have 102 degree fever. Everything I call hear that we need this or that and it will take 24hrs for them to review. There are no manager to talk to. Very rudely customer service, don't care if some child is suffering.
