Don't waste your money on TRS!!! From my own personal experience w/ tax resolution services (www.taxresolution.com ) I can tell you now, save your money because all they do is maintain the correspondence w/ the I.R.S for you (I didn't say timely either), waste even more time in turn increases your interest & penalties, than they tell you they can negotiate the penalties and when the time comes to do what they are saying they will do, they do nothing to negotiate anything. While it may seem like it's worth it to have them correspond w/ the I.R.S for you since no one likes dealing with the I.R.S, $2,500 to do so is a joke. I paid $5,000 so they can work on 2 years of tax audits and they do not even allow you to charge all of it to a credit card because they know their services are so far beyond what they promise that anyone would do a charge back or dispute the charge.

I had so many different tax audit "specialists" (some of which couldn't say more than a word of English) that I was just given the runaround for over a year. and what made them specialists, they all sounded like CPA assistants or H&R block rookies, every time I asked for formal training or certification, they say the same thing over and over "I've been doing this for years"...years means sh*t to most people nowadays and experience as well as education would've helped me feel more comfortable trusting these so called "specialists" with my cases.

Their promises were not even 25% satisfied. They were all VERY nice until they collect the full amounts for payment (they make you write post dated checks for every month's payment) Once they collect all amounts from your CHECKING account, they do a complete 360 on you and all of a sudden, you are of no importance to them, I would ask questions as to how "offer in compromise" work etc and all I got was attitude and very derogatory answers as if I was some sort of mental case because I don't know exactly how an offer in compromise works. By the way, an offer in compromise is VERY complicated to get approved for regardless of what anyone tells you, you almost have to be homeless for them to consider your inability to pay.

Furthermore, they wanted to collect ANOTHER $2,100 to set up a payment plan with the I.R.S and the I.R.S does this for FREE!!! The I.R.S agent I spoke too said that these tax resolution companies are just taking advantedge of people since he was in shock over how much they wanted to charge for something the I.R.S sets up for FREE! Never once did they mention that fee even though they knew well in advance I would be interested in the payment plan if I couldn't pay the entire amount.

If you are considering the services of TRS, please don't. Good Luck to all & I hope this at least helped one person make a decision, than I know it was worth writing.

To increase the percentage of tax professionals who do adhere to professional standards and follow the law by:

Establishing procedures to identify and address the most egregious non-compliance cases
Strengthening partnerships with tax professionals
Establishing and communicating standards of conduct for tax practitioners
Establishing and maintaining a system of tax practitioner oversight
Rejuvenating the referral process
Publicizing actions taken to promote the integrity of the system and deter further non-compliance
Establishing and administering a system of sanctions for tax practitioners who fail to observe standards of conduct
