Tidewater Workshop sells outdoor wood furniture (chairs, benches, etc.) by catalog throughout the USA and probably Canada, etc.  I ordered 2 outdoor wood benches for $136 by phone with Cathy on May 21, 2012.  Delivery expected within 2 to 3 weeks.  Now we're in June, called Cathy--who said they had a backlog of orders but that it would be shipped out soon.  Now we're in July, called Cathy and she said she'd call us back and let us know when its shipped.  Cathy called in early august and Cathy returned the phone call and  left a message on our answering machine telling us that the 2 benches had been shipped out.  Its now early September and we call Cathy again.  She tells us that the 2 benches will now be shipped out on Thursday or Friday.  I told Cathy I'd call her back on Friday to get UPS tracking #s.  Instead I called back the following Wednesday, (9/12/12) today, and Cathy told me that the 2 benches had just gone out and that she'd get back to us later in the week with the UPS #s.  Bottom line--We've been had.  Would you believe Cathy or anyone else at this company.  No. Cathy is so nice on the phone--she should get a raise for lying constantly to the suckers who continuously call.  Checked with the Better Business Bureau--they had 196 complaints against this company.  Can't believe that the Interstate Commerce Commission hasn't investigated this entity as they go across state lines.   By the way, we had ordered a bench from this company a year or two ago, which we paid for, and which we received.  So you never know.  Now I know--and we've been sucker punched. Paid and Never Delivered.

Please note that I notified my credit card company on 9/12/12 of the problem (non-delivery of the benches I had called the credit card company the week before that to see if they could contact Tidewater Workshop as I really wanted the benches.  They told me no, that all they could do is dispute the charge.  I called Tidewater Workshop again to no avail.  Note I ordered  ordered benches on 5/17/12 and my account was charged by Tidewater Workshop on 5/22/12.  I called the credit card company again on 9/12/12 and they put the charge into dispute (Tidewater Workshop had 2 weeks to rectify the problem).  I received the benches on 9/17/12 at 7pm and called the credit card company on 9/18/12 to report that the dispute had been settled--I received the merchandise.  On or about 9/25/12 I received a letter from the Tidewater Workshop; I am responding to that letter now.  I have not opened the boxes and will not do so until the spring (as I wanted them for the summer).
