Tires Plus SCAM SCAM SCAM Malvern, Pennsylvania

2007 Dodge Nitro, was due for inspection, had it in at my local dealer for it's 60K transmission tune up as it's a 4x4.  Dealer informed me that my inspection was coming due and from their 28 point inspection it would be needing tires.  So I leave and start shopping for best deal on tires. Tire Plus had a huge black friday special. Hmmm no brainer go to Tires Plus for huge savings on the tires and have them do the inspection, oil change and new brake pads since they were on sale, easy right...WRONG!!!

I get a call from the store manager that the tires were on but in order to do my brakes it would require all new rotors because they had rust on the rim and were not able to be resurfaced. FAIL the dealer said my rotors were fine when I had it in a week earlier try again.  So I tell him I'll pass on the brake deal since they passed for inspection with plenty of meat on them. 

Second Call from manager bad news truck will not pass because my inner front tie rod had too much play in it.  And that they could not get just a tie rod and it would require the entire steering rack to be replaced. Again huge red flag and FAIL, the dealer mentioned nothing of this issue and I know they checked it it was on the multipoint check paperwork from the week before.  He also tells me that it is gonna cost me $450 for a rehabbed part and 4.5-5 hours of labor.  So I tell him to button up my truck with the tires and I'll be by to pick it up.

So know I have a truck with new emissions but a failed inspection due to some mysterious wiggling in a tie rod.  Not being one to rest on my laurels I got a 2nd and 3rd opinion on not only the tie rod but the "we can't resurface your rotors because of some rust on the outer rim" bull. And hey guess what both of the other mechanics told me the rotors could be resurfaced when the time came and that there was not "PLAY" in my tie rod.

A Week passes and I call back Tires Plus with in the 10 day free re-inspection window and take the truck back in and confront the manager on my findings and demand him to show me this "Play" in my tie rod. He has all 3 of his ASE techs that a certified to do inspections look at the truck before letting me out to the garage to put my hand on the tie rod and fell the "PLAY".  There was none but he was not going to budge He saw my anger and unwillingness to bend over and take it so he offers to refund the Fee for the original inspection.  I take it, went to my local mechanic and 30 min later have an inspected truck that guess what it has absolutely nothing wrong with the tie rod.

Never take your car to this place or any in the chain of their stores for that matter they have quotas they have to meet and will find something wrong with your car to meet that quota.
