Travelocity hotel discloses actual negotiated rate Ripoff Internet

Here's a copy of the response we received when we questioned Travelocity about their "guaranteed lowest rates". The clerk at the hotel advised us had we booked at their website the room rate would have been $163.00 instead of the $199.00 guaranteed lowest rate provided by Travelocity.

Dear Travelocity Customer:

We have received your request for a refund of some part of your Travelocity Good Buy hotel reservation based on a lower rate disclosed to you by the hotel. Unfortunately, our policy for Good Buy rates does not allow for a refund in this case.

The rate disclosed to you is a privately negotiated rate that is not available to the general public. It is a special rate provided only to Travelocity and does not include taxes or our margin. The rate difference you see covers our processing costs and the cost of securing these great rates for our customers. The hotel was in error in providing this information to you.

We appreciate your business and hope you will visit Travelocity when you plan to travel again.
