Unitrin Direct ripoff Scanton Pennsylvania

*****Warning Fraud and RIPOFF*****

I purchased insurance from Unitrin Direct in 2005 and 2006. I changed my billing information in 2006 from one bank to another and updated the information with the insurance company in March 2006. Unitrin was authorized to withdraw money for the insurance every month. Unitrin did not update my banking Account information and continued to attempt to withdraw money from my previous Bank Account. Since the Account was closed the payments were refused from my previous bank. Unitrin cancel my insurance policy and never contacted me. They said they sent out several letters to my home but I never received any notices.

I was unaware of this since I had the account on direct withdrawal. This afternoon I get home to find that my insurance was cancelled for several months and no one contacted me. The rep I spoke to named Susan told me that I would need to get another policy since I was driving around with no insurance. Here is the problem they refused to reinstate my policy. Now I have to deal with a lapse in my insurance and bills for penalty from the dmv.

It gets better; my insurance rates went up because of this. Unitrin has my work, cell and house telephone numbers on file I was never called. Not once did Unitrin try to rectify my issue. I had no choice at the time but to renew the policy at a higher rate. Nice scam my insurance was very low and now I have a high insurance rate thanks to Unitrin. I since then cancelled my policy with Unitrin and to this date I have not seen a cent of my money back from Unitrin. I guess companies have to make momey at any cost, I just wished it would not be at my expense.
