I started school on Feb 25th. I was really excited at the opportunity at being able to further my education. I started the financial aide process of this on February 15. I was selected for verification. I went thru the verification process which I have found has been a night mare. They messed up in this process and added my husbands income twice. One would think this mistake would be easy to fix. This took place on February 27th it took over a month for it to go thru research to be fixed. This was after a rush was put on the account. It finally got thru with that process then was ready for the schools finacial department to do what they needed to do to process it. Well that was on April 3. I was told they had put a rush on it and I would have an answer in 10 days. The 10 days has passed and still there is a hold on my account. I have made call after call and I am told by the end of business day I will know something well the end of business has not come yet for me to know something. I cannot get anyone to call me back except for my academic counselor she emails me and tells me the manager of finance will call me as soon as she looks into something. I have yet to hear from her. I have contacted the Vice President of the finance department just trying to get answers where I stand financially in my schooling. I applied for Stafford loans which Wells Fargo tells me the money has been distributed to the school. The school tells me it is placed on hold. I do not know where to turn are what to do. I do not know if I qualified for loans are not and if they have this money. Getting an education is very important to me. i have not withdrawn from school yet. I have contacted some other Universities that have told me this is only a 10-14 day process. I just wanted to submit my story and see if anyone else has went thru this night mare.

The University of Phoenix hires a third party to handle the verification paperwork. Being selected for verification can be a pain but that's all on FED AID and the other company that collects the verification paperwork. The university stays out of that as much as possible.
