University Of Phoenix Took government funds, dropped me from school without notifying, quit communicating with me. I lost my financial aid due to their unprofessionalism and violations of their own policies! I want to file a class action law suit! Reston Virginia

I am a 5th year senior at UoP. I am currently under financial probation because my counselor put me in classes to which I did not have the prerequsite for, Algebra I &II which I had to drop becuase my 3 year old needed surgery and I was on FMLA leave from work- I am a single parent!

My last class which I can prove I contacted the school to switch out of it for it was an elective that had NOTHING to do with my career aspirations and I was told by my finanical counselor that "Undergrads cannot choose their own electives" and that was later recanted by other staff, I have emails to prove this!

The irony is, this class was a "regression" course meaning it was a spin off of an existing course that I had already completed. In week 3 of this 5 week course the chair visited us to say we would recieve NO credits for this course but we could drop however; due to my 'probation' status, I could not. It does not take a rocket scientist to see where this is going. SO I completed the course with a B and had to write an appeal to get the credits, I have yet to hear back, its been almost 6 weeks!

Then in my current course I emailed the staff to inquire about the differences on the current facilatators syllabus that seem to violate UoP policy which I as a 5 year student was fully aware of. I was essentially ignored and given a "one size fits all" answer. I for the past year had been sending all my emails to UoP staff with a phony attorneys email address in the cc line. This has always given me a leg up in return responses. In fact the Chair and Dean had both on their own accord responded back to my emails cc'ing the phoney atty email address. I can prove this too.

Well last week a manager contacted me via email and we had a heated exchange. She said becuase I had decided to involve an atty (HA, HA -I do not have one) that NO ONE at UoP could contact me, I had to go through their disputes dept. and they have not contacted me back after a week, althought I keep calling them! I was locked out of my online account on Friday, odd since I am in thei course and was not told otherwise. If I do not attand this course, I will lose my financial aid and they did this on purpose becuase I know too much about their shady dealings and have called them on it! Anything short of cussing them out or threating them with legal action falls on deaf ears! We are treated like cattle and it is VERY apparent, all they want is our money.

I cannot tell you how many times I have filled out a FASFA in 1 year and I think they (I would like to substanciate my thought here) are misusing funds. I recieved my funding in Sept. 08 for the 08-09 school year, my excess funds check was recieved and I had filed in July 08. My sister (also a student) filed in March 08 and cannot get anyone to tell her why she has not recieved her funds yet...interesting hun????

I am posting this today with the hopes of filing a class action lawsuit against the university. I have contacted the Dept. of Education, Loan Osbudsman, FASFA, The office of inspector general and I will hit the media circuit as well, calling my local news channels.
