It amazes me how U.S. Xpress will hang a driver out to dry. I spent the required 2.5 days thru orientation, passed the physical, drug screen, etc, etc.....only to find out when it was time to pass out the trucks, that they weren't going to hire me after all! The worst part is they wouldn't tell me why!

Then they informed me that it was up to me to get home on my own! It is sad that they call their company a "Christian" company. Christians would not do this to one another. Drivers, beware! Do not work for this company. They do not start checking your background until you are AT orinentation!

This should be done before you EVER leave the house! Take it from someone that was burned by U.S. Xpress, don't work for them, because if they don't do it during orientation, they will do it to you while you are out on the road!!!

Paul, I appreciate your apology. As for my diabeties, I am on pills to keep it under control. By the federal regs, I am allowed to drive as long as I am not on insulin. I passed my DOT Physical they gave me and that is where it usually would be flagged if it were a diabetic problem. I guess the only problem is, is that they refused to tell me why. I guess they didn't want to tell me why for fear of being sued for discrimination. Luckily I have had it under control for years now and my doctor is happy with it. Please be careful out on the road and don't take anymore chances, remember, it could be your family out there that you might hurt for not driving legally. Not just you, for every driver who reads this. And, oh by the way drivers, STAY AWAY FROM USELESS XPRESS!!!!!!!!

There's your answer, Chris. It's diabetes.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, November 20, 2004

The mandatory urine test is not only to detect drugs, but also to detect people with diabetes.

There's your answer. I knew there had to be some reason. I just never guessed it would be diabetes.

Sorry if I accused you of drugs or accidents. I was just throwing out some possible reasons that you might have been rejected. Believe it or not, quite a few drivers will apply, but not mention an accident. The company looks up the DAC history, and sees it. Then, the guy is sent home.

It's the federal regulations that prevent them from hiring you. USX has no control over that. No trucking company can allow a diabetic behind the wheel. I'm not sure if you have to be on insulin or not. Possibly, people who take the pills are allowed. I'm not really sure.

You know, that's a shame they can't hire you. Jobs are hard to get right now. Plus, the trucking industry is always short. You could get in and make some money for a while.

Try dropping some weight, if you are heavy. Don't get mad. I'm saying if. Many diabetics are overweight. It's nothing to fool with. A friend went blind over it. Keep your blood sugar levels right. And exercise. That's about all you can do for it.

As for me and the team load, of course I knew better. I broke the law every day I was ever in a truck. Too fast. Too many hours behind the wheel. Too reckless to try to get there in time. d**n lucky that I didn't fall asleep and kill someone. I could see it was just a matter of time. Smart drivers tell the company no if they send a team load. Silly me, I take it and try to help the company by covering the load. Playing super-driver is what gets a lot of drivers killed. I was lucky.

Again, sorry if accused you with a wrong guess.

Who do you think you are Paul??

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 19, 2004

Paul, I resent the fact that you are accusing me of doing drugs, having an accident, being a thief, having a dui. I am an honest person. I told USX all about me. THEY wouldn't tell me why they wouldn't hire me. I have NEVER stolen ANYTHING, I have NEVER done or will I EVER do drugs, I DO NOT drink, and unlike alot of people, thankfully I have never been in an accident or an incident. The only reason I can think of that they wouldn't hire me is because I am a diabetic. You need to think a little before you go accusing others of things that they haven't done. There seems to be more to the story why they fired you for taking a team load. If you are the driver that you say you are, you should've known better for taking it in the first place. You should've told them that you weren't a team and that that was a team load, not a solo load. Where is the rest of YOUR story?? Hmmmm?????

If you don't get hired, there's something wrong with you!

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 19, 2004

I wholeheartedly agree, Idiot Xpress is trash. I worked there 3 months. They sent me a team load, then fired me for taking it. I was glad to unload that loser company!

But, make no mistake. USX, like all OTR companies, is desperate for drivers. You have a valid CDL, you're hired. Deaf, dumb or stupid doesn't matter. You're hired. Mentally ill? You're hired!

So, what in the hell did you guys do not to get hired? Accident, maybe? DUI? Theft charge? Drugs?

You can play innocent all you want. But, you're talking to another driver. I know how the system works. Everybody gets a truck. Next time, be honest while you're still at home. You'll save the cost of a bus ticket back.

Chris Is Telling The Absolute Truth About USELESS XPRESS (U.S.Xpress)!!!

AUTHOR: Alan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 18, 2004

To all concerned,

Just to let you unbelievers know, Chris is telling the absolute truth about NOT being hired when you show up for orientation. How do i know this? Because i been through the same ordeal as everyone else that was lied to or should i say deceived into believing you were actually hired only to find out when you got to orientation, your application was'nt even processed yet. This companies hiring tactics should be a very good indicator to ALL interested drivers wanting to work for this company of how much this company really appreciates and respects their drivers/employees.If you are naieve enough to think for one minute that this is a great company to work for THINK AGAIN!!! First impressions are lasting impressions. If your deceived to begin with from the very beginning, what makes you think that they are going to respect you after your hired. Chris,be VERY THANKFUL you were NOT hired by this company, trust me,it was a blessing in disguise. One last suggestion,if a company misleads you from the start, don't even waste your time working for them. They are like a thief trying to sell you stolen merchandise.DON'T SUPPORT THE THIEF! TURN AROUND AND RUN AWAY FROM THEM AS FAST AS YOU CAN. As far as planning a persons trip? Kind of hard to plan on anything when someone is being deceiving is'nt it? Solution: Before traveling to these deceivers for orientation, ask them for a written guarantee that they will provide your return transportation, after all, they paid for your trip there didn't they? Best advice i can give, stay away from these people.Tell everyone and anyone NOT to work for these people. Eventually, word will get around and nobody will want to work for these types of companies.Whatever happened to integrity and respect? Seems to me this company and alot of other companies don't know or even care what them words mean.Let em learn the hard way. DON'T WORK FOR THEM. Sooner or later they will learn not to lie and disrespect the drivers and employees that make them so filthy rich. God Bless each and every one of you!

P.S.-U.S.Xpress IS NOT a Christian company. It is in fact, wolves in sheeps clothing waiting to prey on your professionalism, integrity and honesty.Don't be a fool and cast your pearls before swine. They despise anything of good moral principals and couldn't recognise good if they saw it.

There ISN'T anything more to tell!

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 12, 2004

Jim,
I am well aware of proper trip planning, but when you are told you are hired and to come on into orientation, you take what a recruiter says as the truth. I did and do have the resources to come back home, but I am just tired of having to pay out money that I could use for something else.Obviously I was sorely mistaken that you could trust a recruiter. I shouldn't have to plan on coming back home.

I have an impeccable work record as well as a driving record. (No tickets or accidents since I have been driving since 1985!) Can you say the same? There isn't more to this than what I have told because there isn't anything left to say. Driver recruiters just plain lie to get you into orientation, plain and simple. From the sound of it, you must be one yourself.

And yes, they didn't tell me ANY REASON why. If there was more to tell to keep someone from going thru this, I would. But there is nothing left to tell. Plain and simple, recruiters lie to fill their quotas to get drivers into class.

No Clue, Right ? alot more to this than what you are saying

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 10, 2004

Chris:

Whenever someone takes a trip, proper planning is needed. You should have planned to return home at your expense to begin with.

You say they told you nothing about why they decided to not hire you? Absolutely nothing???

If you have a perfect driving and work record then there would be some mystery here. There's alot more to this than what you are saying. How's your record???
