I hired Barton Resnicoff to represent me for my divorce and custody hearings.  Barton Resnicoff made a big show of his many successes and years of experience and convinced me to give him a $10,000 retainer.  After 2 short visits to the court during which I did not even see the judge or law clerk, Barton Resnicoff told me that my retainer had been used up and that I was being billed for further payment.  I was so confused because the billable hours he had his intern put down didn't make sense. For example, emails with up to 2 sentences were billed for 0.2 hours each. 

If I would have stayed with Barton Resnicoff through my divorce settlement, I would have gone broke long before I would be able to get custody of my kids and keep my home.

While Bart Resnicoff may be ruthless, pompous, disrespectful, selfish, and greedy - Bart, to whom I paid my retainer and fully compensated, failed to return my messages, was late to court, and often had missing paperwork. 

His lazy incompetence led to my case being dragged out for much longer than it should have taken.  He refused to refund the hours for which he billed but was not present.  Mr. Resnicoff kept reminding me that I was lucky to have him right in middle of the negotiating room with my ex-spouse and opposing attorney. 

He thought he was going to get me a better deal when he sent out expensive unnecessary inflammatory emails with demands for my rights to my exe's attorney and child lawyer, but all that did was invite angry responses from all directions and led the bills to skyrocket (since I was paying for almost all the legal fees for everyone).
