We paid a fee to Redweek and posted our Timeshare unit in Maui to be rented. A few montsh later, Redweek sent noticethat it had been rented. Redweek collected the money and kept it. Redweek noted that payment would be made two days AFTER the renter checked in.

The renter was scheduled to check in on March 22. The hotel acknowldges that they were expecting the guest. Knowing that the COVID-19 was causing travel plans ot cgange, I wrote to Redweek asking is the renter was still scheduled. ( I was in Maui and would have gladly checked in.)

Redweek did not respond but the Redweek posting continued to state that payment would be made on Mar 25.

Today -April 4, 2020 Redweek notifies me that the unit was not "habitable" so Redweek refunded the (non-refundable money) to the renter.

It is NOT ACCURATE to state that the unit was not habitable. Th eunit (Marriott Maui) was very habitable and as of check in day there were NO governmental restrictions prohibiting travel and/or use.

Redweek is a SCAM ARTIST ...don't deal with them

Face It - Unit Was Uninhabitable

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 07, 2020

Nobody was going to hop on an airplane in late March due to the virus.  The person who offered to rent was not going to be able to use the timeshare - and neither were you, even if you were in Maui at the time.   No timeshare was going to be open.  Force Majeure clauses would have forced a refund.

Now, let's say the person who was going to rent the timeshare finds he can't get a refund even as late as March 25th.  Certainly he can't get a flight there and he wasn't going to sit in an hotel room.....with no way to return home.  If he doesn't get a refund for not being able to show up - then THAT would be a ripoff.

You were not ripped off....
