844-653-2035 SCE (Southern California Edison) Call Scam Internet

BEWARE, This company is a SCAM. Just got a call from their phone number at 844-653-2035 and the guy was trying to tell me he was from SCE (Southern California Edison) and that they were on their way to turn off my power at my place of business. He said I owed almost $500 to have my meter replaced! I told him that there was a mistake because 1) I never received anything in the mail regarding this, and 2) I don't own the building so there was no way that I was responsible for upgrading hardware attached to it! He insisted that I did and that it was just a deposit and that I would get it back. I just laughed and told him there was absolutely no way I was paying for it. He said it was mandatory that he tell me how to make payment before we ended the call, so out of curiosity, I said sure, let's here it. He than looked up the nearest "SCE payment center" and said it was located inside of a Ralphs supermarket down the street and said I would need to make payment through "Green Dot." Right away when he said that I started laughing and told him how I knew this was a scam now for sure! A lot of scammers are using "Green Dot" right now to scam money from people because they can get their money fast and once you send it, it's gone for good. After "Googling" the number that they called me from, I see that they have a website called "mappleglobaltechsupport.com" where they supposedly provide technical support for computers. I can guarantee that they will not fix anything as this is just another front to get your money. I have also received phone calls from these type of companies claiming that my computer has a virus and they can help me fix it for a sum of money. Bottom line... Steer way clear of a company associated with the phone number 844-653-2035 and don't make any payments over the phone. Also, legit companies would not ask you to make payments through "Green Dot" either. Be careful as these scammers are getting more and more bold. Hope this helps someone out there.
