My daughter (age 37)called 770-986-7799 to get a Ford Explorer 2001 unlocked. She was told that it usually is $39.99 per ad on web site but being it was a Ford Explorer it would be around $50. This was Saturday afternoon 4/5/08.
The man arrive at a reasonable time but he drove up in a mini van that did not have any indication that he was from AA American Locksmith or Fast Service Locksmith, ?He gets out with a jym bar (spelling) and a small air compressor. Also, his child get out the car too. The man is not in uniform. Our vehicle is unlocked under 10 minutes. He give the receipt, Work Order Invoice to my husband My husband ask me to put it on our credit card.............I did so and upon going in the house I noticed the receipt was for $145. My daughter said that is not right it should have been around $50.
I immediately called 770-986-7799? and told the person the story above--they could not do anything until Monday and I would have to call between 9-5. I called Monday 4/7 and told Karen the story--I also told her this was very unprofessional the man had no uniform with the company name no a magnet sign or anything on the vehicle plus he had his kid (who did not stay in the car but got out and walked around).
Anyway, Karen told me that she would check into it and see who was on call. Called Wednesday 4/9 and was told by Karen that she would get back to me within 24 hours.
Now today I call 4/16 and I'm told the person to authorize a credit was out of town last week............and looking through her papers found our receipt. She ask me to email this info to the above address.
I think I should be reimbursed the $95 because this amount was in no way told to us over the phone when we called. Was not told that the call would be an emergency call and no way in your yellow pages ad does it define what the emergency hours are and that there was a $105 for that-the man brought his kid with him.
On 4/21 told employee no longer works there..........was told on 4/25 someone would contact me...........nothing yet

These companys are well becoming known as scammer locksmiths. They have infested the country from coast to coast. They are boiler room phone operations that use deceptive advertising and bait and switch pricing. They have a phone bank usually at an unknown location which then lists thousands of phony listings utilizing phony addresses in the yellow pages, directory assistance, and the internet. They also use very large full page ads to lure you in. Many of there employees are illegal aliens from the middle east. ( Israel ). Most if not all of them are not even real locksmiths. The only way they can get into your car is with a long reach tool which on some models bend the door out of alignment and key locks they cannot pick but just drill them usually telling you they are high security and cant be picked. Then they act like drilling is harder and charge you even more.
This is their standard rip off routine and you are by far not the first. You need to file a complaint with your attorney general they are becoming aware of these phony companys. Call your credit card and dispute the charges. you might even find out the names are different from your credit card statement and the name they used to get your business.
Dont let them tire you out with their lies. They are just trying to wear you down till you go away. File complaints immediately especially with your state attorney general.
These phony locksmith companys are ripping of thousands of people everyday. The reason they are getting away with it is that not enough people are filing complaints with there attorney general.
Try googling " phony locksmith" " scam locksmiths" you will find many stories out their done by various news channels such as ABC, NPR etc. You might want to file a complaint with the local BBB just so it is documented for the rest of the public to see also.
