I took my car to get a noise fixed. After spending $400.00 on a new axel. (wrong item, noise still) The next day the axel groud through the differanchal case.They then told me I had to pay $2400.00 for a new one.

James, here's some facts for you... no such thing as a $2400 axle housing. AAMCO is a RIP OFF. They are the biggest thieves and liars in the industry.

Driveshaft and axle are 2 different things.

It sounds like they replaced an axle and either put the bearing in wrong and/or overtightened it.

FYI...There is no such thing as a $2400 axle housing.

You can get most popular rear ends for $150-$400 from any salvage yard, and even the worst mechanic can install it in 2 hrs.

Normally a small humming from that area is just an axle bearing. Parts and labor usually around $150.

AAMCO is a RIP OFF. They are the biggest thieves and liars in the industry.

You could have gone to the dealership and gotten a better deal, because it would have been done right.
