I called as a result of a Clipper ad as one of my AC units was not working.  A tech and a smooth-talking "helper" came out, looked at the unit and said it would require a new electrical system.  Said they may have one in stock but may have to order. 

They proceeded to check the second unit and acted as if the unit would blow up at any moment if I did not also replace the electrical wiring in that one.

Surpise-surprise, they just happened to have two such parts in their truck and proceeded to replace those in both units, to the tune of $1046.46.

While completing the paperwork, the "helper" specifically asked if I had a man around the house to help with these decisions.  I stupidly admitted that I did not. 

They then proceeded to check out the ducts as I wanted them cleaned out and the grates, etc. cleaned as well.  Once again the "helper" came back to me in total alarm and stated that there was so much mold in my ductwork that he was surprised I hadn't been hospitalized.  Of course he talked me into treating the mold, which took all of 10 minutes.  (No one actually went into the attic to see the extent of the mold...only an afterthought when I had time to think straight.)  That ran an additional $350.00!

They then hooked a suction instrument which ran about 10 minutes and were gone.  The 'helper' insisted I could call him at any time; he'd be at my beck-and-call.  Ha!  I can't even get anyone to call me back.  The new "lifetime warranteed" filter arrived at my front door today, precisely one month after the work was done.  I can not reach anyone to install it (very high ceilings) or to clean the grates as advertised.

These guys need to be stopped!!!!!!
