American Heartland Insurance aka United Equitable, has to be the worst most disrespectful insurance company I have ever dealt with in my life.  Why hasn't a law enforcement or government agency hasn't shut them down yet is the big question.  They are ripping people off on a daily basis and happy doing it.

We are a very well respected body shop that has an excellent reputation.  We take pride in our customer service and are always here to assist a customer in any way possible to make their repairs quick and easy.  When I had to contact this company for a customer I was met with very unprofessional and rude employees.  First off the email address they give you to forward an estimate and photos does not work.  After several attempts to contact someone to help the rude young lady had me forward the email to her address. ( I think she was just tired of me calling back so this shut me up for the day)  After several messages for a period of a week I actually had the uncomfortable experience of speaking with Marc McEwing.  This man has no intention of ever helping anyone and that became apparent to myself and the customer.  He is very unprofessional and extremely rude.  He told me the claim was under investigation and required additional paperwork.  I ask what paperwork and did he need something else from the body shop, I would send whatever he needed to him.  He told me that was none of my business and that was between them and the insured.  I tried to explain that it was in a way our business as to the status of this claim since the vehicle is currently at our shop.  I ask if his company was willing to pay storage fees for letting this vehicle sit while they put their customer off daily, and he laughed.  I feel absolutely horrible for this customer this company is going end up giving him the run around and not paying for his damages.  I actually told Mr. McEwing I felt he was not helpful to his customer and he again told me it wasn't my business and too bad.  I ask if I could please speak to someone else preferably his supervisor and he told me no!  I said I would like to talk to your supervisor so they are aware of how rude you have been to me and to your customer.  He then told me it didn't matter I was going to talk to him and he doesn't care anyway.  I lost my composure and told Mr. McEwing he was being an a**hole!  Which I regret the fact that I let this mean person get me to the point of cussing.  Well he really let loose on me then after a few of his own choice words he basically told me that the customer won't get a thing from their company.  I said that is horrible and we will see, he said oh you will see believe me!  I called the customer to explain the unfortunate conversation I had about his claim.  Later that afternoon the customer had finally reached Mr. McEwing and they also got into a horrible argument, the customer said he was basically cussed out.  Mr. McEwing also told the customer that if that woman (me) ever calls him back he is going to reach through the phone and strangle me.  All I can say is WOW!

This company should not be in business they are basically a scam.  They sign you up for insurance  and you pay your premiums.  If you have a claim they will not cover it.  They will find anyway to come up with any reason not to pay.  They will not return your phone calls and when you actually to get to speak with someone it will be a horrible conversation.  The staff is uncaring, indifferent, rude and unprofessional.  If you are shopping for insurance I can give you advice with 100% confidence.....do not deal with this company you will regret it!  My hope is this company gets investigated soon for the sake of the customers they have scammed and the ones they will in the future.

I am dealing with Mr. Clark  at United Equitable. He is a very understanding business minded person. He's a family oriented person and from what I've seen he tries to accommodate you best as he can. Of course the industry that he's in he has to stand for something. Insurance companies always get a bad rap. Give this guy a break. He's doing an awesome job!
