Ameritrust Investments ripoff Newton Massachusetts

I was taken for $868.00 by this company. I was looking for a consolidation loan and happened upon their website(which is now disabled). I filled out the application and a Mr. Alan Russell(supposedly) called me and said that I had been approved.

He then went on and explained that I had the option of paying 6months in advance or taking out insurance. I at first said neither but changed my mind and went ahead and paid it. He then faxed me what looked like a legal document and had me sign and return it along with my drivers licence.

Afterwards I could not contact him again and eventually spoke with a Kevin Baker who told me that the lender now needed 900 for insurance. I refused and requested a refund. Mr' Baker told me that it would be in my mailbox within 7-10 days.

Of course I never saw the money and the number was disconnected. I notified the FTC. All this happened in June.
