Our move was scheduled a week in advance between 7am and 12 noon.  The day before we spoke with Michael in dispatch to confirm the move and were told we'd likely be the first move as we lived the furthest out.  10am rolled around so I called to make sure everything was on target, they just said yes, and we'll call 30 minutes before we get there.  12:30 rolled around and I knew something was wrong.  They said the movers were running late.  I called back at 1:30 to talk with Dispatch and got the great news, they forgot and failed to dispatch our move.  We had just driven two long days from North Carolina and needed to have our truck back the evening of our planned move day.

I called dispatch back and they said they found a crew, window between 3:00 and 8:00 pm.  8:00 came and went, and at 9:30pm the movers finally arrived.  Tired, out of breath, complaining about moving and the company, stating the contract wasn't even written up for how we actually needed our work done.  The new guy that just started that morning wrote down my debit card information, expiration dates and security pin, and charged us before they touched a piece of furniture.  He didn't give me the card information back - he even stated that writing it down was against company policy.  The movers finally started moving a few boxes into the new apartment and 30 minutes later the police show up and say the move needs to stop, 10:00 is quiet hour and that was that.  The officer allowed them to move a few more items into our apartment as long as they didn't use a dolly.  All of the boxes and items they had taken out of our moving truck we had to move back in ourselves, so they could be locked up at night.

Next morning was Thanksgiving, so now our moving truck was two days late.  We had to hire another crew (different company) on Friday morning, and the move was completed in one hour and 15 minutes.  It took the Apartment Movers that long to unload a few boxes off the truck onto the grass to sit.  Half the time they were laying on the ground talking about how tired they were, asked us to get them something to drink so I bought Gatorade.  By the time I got back the police were there and the move was over.  Paid for, not completed.

I contacted the owners and left messages, had to call 3 or 4 times before anyone actually called me back to discuss the non-move.  We went for another week before getting anything from them, they absolutely do not know how to return a phone call.  I was promised a call back over 7 times, and not one of them was returned.  In addition to the money I am out for the move that didn't take place, I had to hire another crew, pay two more days for a moving truck and tow dolly, and literally in anguish for days on end on how everything was handled - and their lack of acknowledgement of their own responsibility.

This morning we noticed our blue-ray player is missing, so we have no idea what else was "lifted".  It was packed with other electronics and games, so we're still wondering what happened with that.  I thought this was just one isolated incident and bad luck for me, but I read these reports over and over again about this company doing the same thing.  My next letter goes to the Better Business Bureau and then the State's Attorney Office.
