While onlline, an advertisement appeared for Aura Vie skin care products.  It promises better looking skin if used in conjunction with another skin care product, Shimia.  It says you must use these two products in conjunction with each other to achieve the desired results.  You are then prompted to try the product for free, all you have to pay for is shipping.

What you don't realize is that when you sign up for your "free" trial product, you are agreeing to enroll in a membership in their company whereupon you will be billed approximately $100 every month.  If you do not return the product or cancel your membership within a specified number of days, you are automatically enrolled in this membership.

One of the free trials never even came and then a $90 charge showed up on my credit card bill.  Upon contacting the company in question, I was then advised that I had agreed to a membership in their company.  I explained that I in no way understood that by ordering a "free trial' of their product, I was agreeing to a membership.

Then the next month, another $100 charge shows up from Aura Vie.  When you call in, you are given the same explanation about allegedly committing to a membership in their company and if you do not call in within so many days of the trial period, you are automatically enrolled in this membership.

Both websites are completely misleading.  I do not feel that they properly alert you to what you are getting yourself into when signing up for the free trial.  Then when you call in to try to talk to someone about how you feel you were mislead and you want to cancel, you are talked to in a very rude way and told that even though you can cancel now, basically "too bad" about the first $100 charge because you agreed to it when you ordered the free trial.  In fact, you don't even get to talk to a person until you listen to an automated response about how you agreed to this membership when you ordered the free trial even though you don't know you did.

I feel very mislead.  I am frustrated that a website can offer "FREE" this and "FREE" that, yet if you try their "FREE" product, you are actually locking yourself into months and months of expensive charges.  If the trial product truly is "FREE", then it should be free with no strings attached.  So be warned, if you respond to their "FREE" offer, it really isn't "FREE" at all.
