Our dock was vandalized as well as our neighbors home.  our home owners company (auto owners)  adjustor refused to come to our home and see the damage. One year later she still did not replace the dock so we called and complained she was ridiculously slow T H e N  she needed to send an engineer (this is a 2k claim). Well she alleged there is one engineer she can use for the entire north state of michigan - John cutch.  This idiot knew nothing about the way the dock worked - so manufacturer told him it's not repairable and suddenly auto owners made up a story a boat ran into it (on the bank ??) And since that would make somebody else responsible they would not pay / a year waiting - a sudden need for an engineer to be involved for a lousy 2k loss and  then when it was time to cut the check they made up their own fairy tale and disregarded the vandalism and police report.   Auto owners should be ashamed of themselves and if they allege john the engineer is getting involved beware - they hire him to avoid filing claims  !!!!!  By the way this was our first homeowners claim in 23 years and they put us thru hell for  lousy 2k
