I have had commercial insurance on one of my trucks for about 3 years. I was recently making some changes and cutbacks on my vehicles and deleted one truck from the policy until spring. looking over the premium due bill, I sent in $70.00 to cover November, 2004. Then in december, I sent in $75.00 to be sure that enough was paid. The premium was due on the 15th of each month. Auto Owners cashed my check on the 13th of December and cancelled my policy on the 15th.
On the 30th of December, I got a surprise cancellation notice in the mail with another memo saying that the $75.00 was not enough, but they owed me a credit of 338.29, which doesn't make sense. Why wasn't said back in November when I sent in only $70.00? This company has put me and my wife at risk without any explanation and now I will have to pay more up front to get coverage because their "reason" for canellation was non-payment of premium.
