I financed a car through this company.  I have had this account for 5 years.  I experienced a hardship and was struggling to make my "final 3 payments".  They repossessed my car without sufficient notification, and when I called to make arrangements- I was told "that's what your car note was for".  This company is notorious for doing this.  My sister financed a car through them and she missed one payment and they did the same thing.  It appears they like having you pay this high percentage rate and invest thousands of dollars- only so they can pick up the car and resale it ..to do again.

What's worse, I was told that I had 10 days to pay the remaining balance or else my car would be sold to auction. I get that is protocol, but I don't understand why they have already removed my personal belongings from the vehicle and this is just day 4??  Why are my belongings in one location and the vehcle already at an auction?

"less than stellar credit."

"This company is notorious for doing this."

Most sub-prime lenders do the same thing.  They are aware of all the deceitful, delaying techniques of their clients.

Boycotting them won't do much good, you would have to deal with another sub-prime lender until you get your act together and improve your credit report.

Doesn't appear to be likely to happen any time soon.

"My sister financed a car through them and she missed one payment and they did the same thing."

Is this a family thing, or just you and your sister?

This ISN'T the first time you've had "a hardship" with your payment ability or you wouldn't be dealing with this type of lender in the first place.

Here's some good advice, which I doubt you'll follow, DON'T buy things you can't afford.

Where is the RipOff

They repossessed my car without sufficient notification, and when I called to make arrangements- I was told "that's what your car note was for".
- What notification were you expecting?  Are you saying that if they had given you notice that you would have paid?  If that is the case then why didn't you make the payments in the first place?

The fact is that you knew you were delinquent, you just "thought" that because you only owed 3 more payments you could let it "slide" and they would just let it go.  Well until the car is paid in full it is NOT your car and they have every legal right to repossess it if you are delinquent, so you gambled and lost.

I get that is protocol, but I don't understand why they have already removed my personal belongings from the vehicle and this is just day 4??
- Because most States require the contents of the car to be inventoried within 24-72 hours of the Repossession.
