Beckens Moving. They try to pass themselves off as Bekins Moving. Two completely different companies, one reputable the other a scam. Not only did they lie about the time frame for delivery by 23 days, they changed the pricing after I signed the contract, twice.
They did not wrap my solid cherry furniture which is now destroyed, did not wrap an $1,800.00 chandelier which is now trashed. Most of my fine art is destroyed as well as most of my belongings. I am missing over $15,000 in personal property, which is not only criminal but grand theft.
They moved the stuff from 5-6 trucks, I had to call everyday to find out where they were. At one point they said they didn't know, it was broke down someplace. They stated they would have the truck there on many occasions only it never showed up.
Even the end use mover stated he never saw anymore so terrible, nothing wrapped so he took photos of everything in his cell, which I can attest to seeing. He said he would email them to me, but I doubt he will stand by his word. Nonetheless, there is always a subpoena.
Regardless of the continual lies about arrival date, their changing the original contract and written agreement numerous time, my very expensive furniture and belongings are now trashed or missing. I had to go onto the van to see one original painting only to find it in shards. The mover said he didn't even know it was mine because half my stuff was not tagged.
I saved everything, including original contract, emails, to phone conversations, receipts and other support documentation as well as numerous photos.
As I search other sites, I find other people with the same problems. One gal has not received her stuff at all and now has to get an attorney.
The damages and mental anguish are immeasurable. Fortunately, I have so much support documentation. They will not be able to stand behind some .60 per pound of damage, what they have done is criminal. They took personal belongings and had total disregard, as far as I am concerned, intentional disregard for someone's life of belongings. These as you could see from photos, are not accidents. I opened one ox and it was empty! The tape was cut and the contents were gone.
The first mover told me if I did not give him cash, he would add $450.00 to the bill and say it was because he crated TV's etc. Obviously when you see all the photos, etc., you will see nothing was crated or even wrapped in blankets. It is good I have two credible witnesses.
I contacted the attorney general, Inspector General, a lawyer, the BBB and every other agency I can. I had to resort to calling the FBI looking for them to put a trace out on the truck.
I would love to talk to the media and show them what I had and now have, as well as all my documentation. I am happy to tell my tale to anyone who can help me and will address this scam company and, help me find my belongings. I guarantee after you see what I have, you will find this a total scam and possible theft ring.

I've had similiar experience

When we hired movers, we found a company called Beckens Moving. We paid a deposit written out to Becken Moving. When they showed up at our house, all their paperwork was titled Serenity Van Lines.
We had a very similiar experience. We agreed that they would be packing our belongings and they showed up with no packing paper and repeatedly asked me and my husband to help with the packing and loading. They loaded our stuff without doing any inventory, no lists, no stickers, no labeling, no tagging. We received so much damaged stuff and they failed to deliver a long list of items valuing over $2500.
The .60 per pound liability is ridiculous. Maybe if they would actually be held liable for all the damage they do and for all the stuff they misplace or steal, they might actually care about making sure customers receive thier property.

previous names of the company

I think the owners of All Victory Moving and Storage (DOT 984669), as well as Expediant Vanlines (DOT 1572258), now own a company called Beckens Moving (MC 663268). I think the other company owned by the same people is Serenity Vanlines Inc (DOT 1691373 / MC 621146). Both of these last two companies have the same address and phone number listed on the FMCSA Website (in Brooklyn, NY). Also, all four of these companies seem to be owned or managed by the same person. The owner seems to come up in various complaint boards about these companies, and his name is linked to the address for both Beckens Moving and Serenity Vanlines listed on FMCSA website.
