Birch Communications Company is attempting to lure me away from AT&T and offering attractive inducements to do so such as lowering rates by 30-40%%. Internet

Company called me out of the blue on Friday December 4th offering to lower all my AT&T phone and Internet services by a considerable 30-40% along with better terms. Obviously very tempting.

I was given an ID# and was told I would hear from someone on Monday (Today) the 8th.
with the implication I would be signed up at that point. That call came in at 3:12  today and I was not in the office to take the call. She left word to call her back. I have not as of this writing.

I asked the initial callers how I or anyone else can simply abrogate or breech a contract
The answer was a bit fuzzy (something about being allowed to compete) I think.

It all sounds to me as though I would be liable and I am obviously not anxious to be scammed or sued. I am attempting to do due diligence and risk avoidance.
