BMG Music recieved a phone call from a collection agency yesterday saying I owed BMG $268. from 2002. Kerville Texas

yesterday I recieved a phone call from someone claiming to be a collection agency. she said I owed BMG 260. some dollars. I told her she had to be wrong, I had no idea what she was talking about. When I ask what BMG was, she did not know. I did not find out until I went online what this company was. I told her I was not giving out any financial info. on the phone and I was not paying something I didn't owe! She then tried to barter on what I could pay to keep this off of my credit report. She first said I could settle right now for $25.95, then she said just a minute and she put me on hold. She came back and said she was wrong, I could pay $187. something, but that would not get it off of my credit report! By this time I was fuming, I informed her that I didn't care, I didn't owe this and I wasn't paying it! I ask where the hell this had been since 2002, and she said with some other collection service. This was all news to me, and I don't know where it came from. I have lived at the same address and had the same phone number for over twelve years!!!
