Our rental with Brownstone was a short one. 3 weeks!!!

They were managing a property for R. Bruce Johnson, Little Horse, LLC. Who by the way didn't own the property. Cerise Roberts is the listed owner but nobody ever tells the truth with these guys. Promises were made to have the house fixed up for us before we moved into the house from Northern Maryland. Yes a nearly 400 mile move and none of these people could actually keep one single promise. All we asked for was healthy, safe and functional. In fact, the health department contacted us telling us that they had been trying to do an inspection for about a year and they ignored the health department!!! Needless to say, I let them in and the house was found to be in bad shape. Funny thing is, nearly two years later and the repairs haven't been made. So good for the government departments who are supposed to be there to protect us, huh?

Brownstone actually filed an unlawful detainer on the 11th of August when we were supposed to move in on the 10th of August! The saddest part is that regardless of the fact that I had all of my receipts to show I paid them, they kept saying I owed them more, but wouldn't explain why they thought I owed more. Each time they requested more money, the amounts changed. They don't know thier right hand from their left. the most unorganized, unprofessional people in business. They show up in court in shorts and flip flops!

The house had hot exposed wired that shocked two grown men (think about what that could have done to my kids) a flooding basement, a leaking roof, 12 broken windows, stuctural issues and plumbimg issues. They didn't even bother to clean the house and when we called a local cleaning company to give us an estimate on the cleaning they stated it was too dirty and we had to hire a professional steaming company.

(The previous tenants were also given empty promises of repairs and the current tenants are at their wits end.)

We went to court and the judge actually gave them back possession over a $85 difference which was still not clear why it was owed to begin with. We were not giving the opportunity to show our photos of the premises, have our witnesses speak in court, or show all the written promises made. But the judge sided with them.

I am now taking them to court to get my money back as I was not given what was contracted and they took my money. It cost us over $4000 to stay in this house for only 3 weeks.

Shame on Brownstone Properties. shame on Robert Bruce Johnson, shame on Little Horse, LLC, shame on Monument Real Estate and all the others involved. You have destroyed the lives of many people and you should be stopped!

Unless you want heartache and stress, I highly reccommend you stay clear from these people!
