Buy Auto Parts AC Compressor clutch failed in 10 months San Diego California

 I bought an AC compressor kit(comp, rcvr/dryer,expn valve) for $454  7Mar14 from Buy Auto Parts.

While the compressor lasted, the clutch bearing failed by Jan 2015. The entire clutch assembly spun around!

I bought a new compressor from a Mazda dealer for $250. When I compared the clutch, it was different. Is Buy Auto parts sourcing in China and rebranding as of Japanese manufacture.  They sent me a belt in a Gates sleeve but the part number on the belt was another manufacture's number.

The effort to replace an AC compressor is so high for a MAzda CX7 that I would not risk even getting a replacement from them.

Their rep on the phone seemed knowledgeable and their delivery was good. Parts selection is good. Prices are ok.

Quality is important for a high installation labor effort part and $454 should have assure it.

I recall trying to return belt which was the wrong size - they would not do it. They are a "office only" parts place and likely have someone else handle the physical inventory
