My son went to these people to try to buy a decent used car.  He is 19, been on the job about 2 months, and has zero credit history - so he knew going in it would be a tough sell.  He had a 2002 Toyota Tundra for a trade, and a small amount of cash.

The salesman, Allen, put together a deal for a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe.  He told my son that there would be no problem getting it approved, and promised an 8.9% interest rate.  I was very skeptical when I heard this, but stayed out of it.  He sent my son home with the car.  That was Monday, Oct 29.

Throughout the week, Allen kept calling and texting.  He was having a hard time getting the deal approved.  He asked my son to falsify a pay stub showing 8 months of employment rather than 2.  My son refused.

Finally, on 11/5 (so 7 days after the original 'deal') Allen finally called my son and told him the deal didn't go through.  He told my son to bring the car back.  When he did, the truck he had provided as a trade in was gone - Allen claimed it had gone to auction already because he had filed the paperwork as finalized - but promised that it would be available the next day at 6 am.  My son asked for his truck to be delivered, since he had no faith that it would actually be available as promised and he couldn't miss any more work.  Allen refused, saying they couldn't do transactions off the lot.

My son asked to speak to a supervisor, and Allen told him he didn't know who the supervisor was.  He asked for the manager's name and phone number, and Allen said he wasn't allowed to give that out.

He's going to pick up the truck tomorrow.  Given the number of lies told so far, we don't have much hope that it will be available.
