CAMCO, Capital Acquisitions And Management Company ripoff Defames the DEAD!!! Rockford Illinois

My friend passed away in January of this year and I am the Trustee for his Estate. Yesterday I received a letter from CAMCO stating that he owed over $12,000 for an overdue debt. This is FALSE! He never owed any such debt.

I have been handling his financial affairs for almost a year and had never heard of CAMCO or the other creditor they claim the debt was from. I have copies of his last credit reports and his check registers for the past few years and no such amount or company is in either.

I called CAMCO yesterday afternoon and was transferred to a Dawn Anderson. She went round and round with me about his owing the debt, while refusing to tell me who the original creditor was or what type of debt this was. She stated that CAMCO had taken over the debt from another collection agency which my friend had been paying until recently. I told her this was immpossible - "He has been DEAD for 4 months!". She had no answer for this.

I asked her to mail me PROOF that he owed this debt, she refused. She then began to badger me about what was his Social Security # and that I needed to mail her a copy of the Death Certificate IMMEDIATELY. I refused to do both. I informed her that I had contacted his attorney as soon as I opened the letter . I had - it all seemed so fishy to me. She them became irate and told me to have him call, then she hung up.

Last night I found this site and was so happy - then ANGRY! This morning I filled a complaint with the FTC, the Los Angles County Dept. of Consumer Affairs, the Illinois Dept. of Consumer affairs (312) 814-3000, and the Chicago - Rockford Better Business Bureau.

I don't know what they are trying to pull. But, I do know that I will take EVERY legal remedy to stop them from defaming and defrauding the DEAD!!!
