Capitol Resorts Bella Vista Arkansas

We have been a owner of a 3 Bedroom timeshare in Branson, MO. since 2008.  In February 2012 we were invited to a dinner in Rogers, MO for one of there famous updates, which usually turn out to be a high pressure sales meeting, which this did turn out to be.  We were informed at that meeting that Grand Crowne was either purchased or was changing its name to Capitol Resorts and moving it's headquarters to Florida. Primarily the reason was high taxes in Branson.  Then came the sales pitch for us to upgrade to a "Lodge at Crown View." In round numbers we had invested $45,500.00 in 2008, and with the equity from that purchase we were able to purchase this 4BR unit for another $15,328.00 which we did. 

The big selling point by the salesperson was that if we bought into this our maintenance fees would be locked in at $839.00 forever.  Knowing how maintenance fees have been on a constant rise for all timeshares I bought into the lie.  This year my maintenance fees are approximately $1,730.00.  On the proposal review done in February 2012 a line item states a maintenance  fee of $839.00 is due every year., that line is iniatialed by both me and my wife and the document is signed by both my wife and I along with Grand Crowne/Capital Resorts salesperson.

I call Capitol Resorts yesterday, reitterated how I resented be lied to, and basiclly was told there is nothing I or anyone else a Capitol can do, guess somewhere in the fine print in the contract it says maintenance fees can be raised at there descretion. Truth doesn't seem to matter with these people.  It was a scam to sell the upgrade from the start, one big lie.  I just don't understand why people can't just tell the truth.  I don't know which is the binding contract, the proposal review sheet, signed by all parties or the document signed later.  The proposal review sheet was what was promised us in the meeting, and I do believe our meeting was tape recorded by Capitol. By the way the reason they told us they would be able to hold the maintenance fees so low was all the money they would save on taxes by moving to Florida.
