I was off work with a medical condition and needed help to pay my bills. I saw the Cash Call ad on TV and decided to call, BIG MISTAKE! They rushed me through the application process and when done I felt like I had fallen into a big black hole, that I would never get out of! I borrowed $2000.00 of which they deducted $125.00 for some fee, then the balance was deposited into my checking account. Not once did they tell me what the interest rate would be. They just kept telling me that my monthly payment would be $125.00. After I recieved my completed loan documents via email, I went into shock! It showed that I would have to pay them over $10,000.00 in interest for this loan. It read that you can pay the loan off early to avoid paying the extremely high interest rates! OK. But I just borrowed $2000.00, what makes them think that I am going to be able to pay this off anytime soon? As life would have it, my medical condition got worse (stress related according to my doctor) and I was not able to go back to work for a while. Without an income going into my checking account it quickly became overdrawn (this is the same account that Cash Call will take my monthly payment from). So prior to any payment problems, I called Cash Call requesting that they stop the automatic payment and told them that I would mail the monthly payment in from now on. They agreed and so I mailed my payment in when it was due and within a few days I started getting calls at home/work from a variety of phone numbers and departments within Cash Call. They would call at all hours of the day/night. They threatened to come into my work to serve me papers, they called my boss and told him to inform me to return their calls. Every call was harassing and verbally abusive and all because they kept trying to get a payment from my checking account and it wouldn't go through (each attempt costing me $35.00) I called BofA to see if I could place a stop on Cash Call so that they would not be able to run up more NSF charges on my account. I told BofA that Cash Call had agreed to stop the automatic payments, but haven't. BofA told me that they couldn't do anything about it and that Cash Call would have to stop processing the automatic payments. Seems like they're working together to scam as much money from their customers as they can! I Eventually closed my checking account and filed for bankruptcy. Once you file bankruptcy your creditors are not supposed to call you, but Cash Call still did! Suprisingly it took two weeks before they finally stopped the harassing calls. They need to stop harassing their customers, afterall without us Cash Call wouldn't be in business and their employees would be looking for work elsewhere!! STOP FINANCIALLY RAPING CONSUMERS!

#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds

NEED PROOF

AUTHOR: Onewhoknows - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 17, 2008

I am an ex employee of Cashcall that needs proof that Cashcall is breaking company policy by leaving more than the collectors name and phone number on answering machines. When I was trained in the training class I was told that name and number only should be left on the machine but when I was trained by an employee on the collection floor they trained me to leave all kinds of messages.
When I did as they trained me to do they terminated me stating that no one is allowed to leave more than thrir name and number. I was denied unemployment. I need everyone's help proving that what they are stating is not so. I would like to appeal my unemployment case but I need you help. If you have any recording's from answer machines please send them to me with either your name or cashcall acct. number to:

Why did you borrow money when you didn't have any?

How, in anyone's right mind, can someone borrow money when they are not working e.g. - you have no income to pay it back?
You clearly have internet access and they have a website to look this stuff up on. PLUS the many ridiculous complaints like yours all over the net where people don't want to pay it back.
No ripoff.

NO rip off here

You complain about harassing phone calls......then pay the bill you owe WHY did you sign ANY papers for ANYthing without KNOWING what the interest rate was? You cant just borrow money and then down the road decide you dont like the repayment options and change them or just quit paying.

Places like this dont care WHY you cant pay....they've heard alllllll the excuses ten fold every day.

There is no rip off here other than YOU ripping them off by not paying and filing bankruptcy
