I read your other reports about Citizens bank, and was really shocked when I saw that another customer had her ATM deposit dissappear at the exact same branch that mine disappeared. I am shocked because Citizens ASSURED me that nothing like this has EVER happened there before it happened to me. They also told me that there was "nothing they could do" for me.
I drove up to the ATM on George Urban Blvd and dep an envelope with 5 money orders in it. I wrote out the dep ticket, and put my acct number on each item. I filled out the dep envelope as well as the dep slip. Low and behold, they only recieved 4 money orders, one was missing.
When they "investigated" this, it was a joke. They refused to return my phone calls, left me on hold, didn't get back to me at all, etc. You know what, I finally dropped it. I said, oh well, maybe it got eaten in the machine, I am just out the money, I will let it go, it has been months and it is making me sick. I will let it go fot the sake of my own health. Well, I was sure surprised to read that it happened to some else at the same exact branch! And the video tape even dissappeared?
As far as the NSF charges that Citizens drills you with, i have never been hit by any, because i keep enough money in my acct. But my son has been hit so badly, I think they should dedicate a wing of the branch to him and send him a fruit basket on holidays. They nail you for 33.00 per day, and then don't even notify you that you are over drawn! (By the way, I did actually witness him use the Atm to check his balance prior to purchase, and it did show he had money in there, when in fact he did not.
Computers know when an outstanding transaction is pending. And the ATM was not showing this, on purpose. Granted, it is still his responsibility to know his bal. and he was willing to pay the fees, I just think they should notify you of them, and not add 33.00 per day, that is ridiculous. he now has overdraft protection) When I spoke to the bank manager on my son's behalf, they actually stated that the notice he was sent, after a week, saying he owed 99.00 for 3 charges of 33.00 each, that this notice was a "courtesee". Well, I wish they weren't so courteous. They said "not everyone gets a notice, we only send them out to 1 in 4 of the people who are over drawn? "what?" did I hear her right??? that is the most insane thing I have ever heard.
Over all my experience has been the same with Citizens as all of your other reports indicate. I was charged a 25.00 fee for my mega rewards card, without my knowledge too. I am sick and tired of banks getting away with all there gestpo fees and rip offs. Where is the attorney general and the consumer advocate when it comes to banking in this day & age?

If they never got the money order, then just put a stop on it and have it replaced. It may well have been destroyed in processing (careless on their part) but that doesn't mean you are out that money. Ask them for photo copies of the checks they did process, and put a stop on the other one.
