I'M SUING CTU NEXT WEEK IN FEDERAL COURT FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:

I am a senior at CTU and I can honestly tell you that I made a mistake. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I would never attend CTU.

1) Many of the teachers are incompetent.

2) The grading practice is subjective and fluctuates like the wind without any true and solid grading methodology.

3) Teachers have fraudulently back dated grades

4) I've had a teacher fraudulently post grades for assignments that were never handed in.

5) Upon information and belief, CTU avoids the more objective multiple choice question exams because many students fail them and CTU cannot collect tuition from students who fail.

6) Misled about how prior credits would be credited to me

7) Misled about the cost of the degree and only after I enrolled did CTU start adding additional classes to my curriculum that significantly increased the cost.

8) CTU refused to give me medical leave, which caused me to fail six classes that they charged me for.

My 2+ years at CTU has given me the evidence to prove many claims against them. Specifically, I have evidence to prove that their teachers have regularly committed fraud in back dating grades and submitting grades for assignments that were never handed in.

I feel that the worth of any degree is the worth a prospective employer places on it. If I was an employer, I would not hire anyone from CTU if the degree was important.

Have BSBA and MSM from CTU

AUTHOR: ruth5516 - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 27, 2014

I have both my BSBA and MSM in IT from CTU, I have never had questions regarding their accredidation.

I like the way the school sets up their classes as being employed in a particular job for a company and all the papers and discussions are directed at what the resource would be required to do in the real world.  Tests and quizes do not always give a person what is need to be out in the real world and CTU provides experience instructors who have actually done what they are teaching.

Additonally because the students in a class may be located anywhere, group projects permit the teams to interact globally which is how today's business is truely done! My instructors were always available AND if I was stuck working I could attend a recorded class and keep up. I have no issues with any of the instructors or the "real world" education they provided me.

i agree this school has some problems

I have had a similar experience with them as well.. I also found out that hardly anyone takes thier credits if you do transfer to another school. Its just a big scam they have to get you to attend. I withdrew after the first 3 courses because they definately didnt teach what needed to be taught and everyone at the school knew it and just gve me b.s. about it, also they demamded i keep taking classes and not witdraw that right there made me think bad bad school.. that was a week ago, and im still enrolled, they have until the 25th to take me off the books so i am not charged another term. lets see what happens, with that and the $2000 that i am owed, somehow i think i will be needing a lawyer.

No problems here

AUTHOR: Bk - (U.S.A.)

I graduated from CTU last year and not only did I not have any problems with them I had no problem getting a good job. Their billing practices, staff and academic staff was all very helpful and provided me with great information for my career field. The professors were good some of them very hard but still had clear guidelines and academic policies in regards to the quality work that they expected. I graduated with honors from CTU and I have NOT had any problems with them nor anyone that I know personally has not had any problems with them. AIU on the other hand I have heard some horror stories. I am sorry for those who have had issues with CTU online.

Go ahead and sue

AUTHOR: Tim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 18, 2008

Go ahead and sue, and you will lose.

Grading at EVERY college is subjective. Each individual professor has the discretion to implement objective or subjective testing in his/her class. CTU just has a blanket system. In any other college you attend, you will be at the mercy of the professor.

No college is required to give you medical or family leave, if you are sick and can't attend class, withdraw and come back later.

As to your comment about how no employer should hire CTU graduates....that is just ignorant.
I am also a senior at CTU, and the college is regionally accredited. I have successfully transferred CTU credits to Penn State University during a program I was taking there and CTU more than qualifies for tuition assistance at my job. And why shouldn't it?

Most employer programs will pay for schools accredited by the DETC, CTU is accredited by a regional accrediting body.

Employers shouldn't discredit entire degrees because some students want to whine about how they feel the professors did them wrong, google Boston College and "grades" and you'll see a lovely grades dispute much like your's that was thrown out by the judge.

Also, it doesn't really matter what CTU's parent company is doing, their SEC filings have no bearing on how CTU is viewed by employers. Unlike AIU, CTU has had no problems with their accreditation or criminal complaints. Even STATE colleges have had issues like that in the past.

So quit your belly-aching and either finish your degree or transfer the credits to another school (because most WILL accept them). But go ahead and sue, then you'll be in even more debt and have something else to complain about.

Question

AUTHOR: Darkmocha - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 16, 2008

I'm curious to know one thing. Has anyone reported their problem to the Better Business Bureau (BBB)? I see there are a lot of negative comments on this site about CTU Online. I visited the BBB website and there are barely any complaints against this school. This is how I made my initial decision to attend this university. Compared to other universities, CTU had and still has the best report. If anyone has a legitimate complaint against the school, the BBB is a great tool. I have used it to resolve problems with companies over and over again. Curious about how many of you have filed a report.

My issue with CTU has been resolved. The one good thing I can say about CTU is that their credits helped me get into law school.

In addition,

(9) CTU never follows the text books they forced me to buy over the 2+ years

(10) CTU never verified if I completed the reading assignments

(11) CTU never verified if I completed the audio classes

You can literally go through the courses at CTU and pass by only submitted their written assignments, which always receive a passing grade when submitted on time or even late.
