Comfort Direct ripoff WARNING 90 day trial scam New Brunswick New Jersey

You will lose sleep if you deal with this mattress company. I found Comfort Direct on the internet when I was shopping for a new mattress. The company offers what they call the SAT bed. It is touted as self adjusting technology. They claim all kinds of big name testamonial. A 90 day trial is offered. The owner himself really makes you feel like you are buying a bed to beat all beds. He tells you you are only risking a $100.00 return fee if you don't like the bed. Do not fall for this rip off! I tried to return the bed and was talked into an extension of the trial. The bed did not work for us at all. I was in pain and tried to return the bed several times. Each time I was talked into trying something different for another week or two. When I finally had enough I simply asked to return the bed.

Things got really interesting after that. I was immediately put on hold for 45 minutes and was put on hold every time I got the owner on the phone. The employees always said the owner would call back and he never did. This tactic is obviously designed to wear you down. I finally got the owner on the line and as soon as I said my name He hit the hold button again. I laid that phone down and used my other phone and got him again I asked to not be put on hold again and his response was we are not going to work this out so have your lawyer call us.

I did more research and found that the State of New Jersey has filed suit against this company for fraudulent practices and doing exactly what they did to me. The New Jersey office of the Attorney General filed a press release on 4/24/2006. This is still available by going to www.nj.gov and then the department of consumer affairs. I strongly suggest that you read the press release if you feel like buying from this company. Their advertising is very effective and convincing. Don't do it!
