I signed up for once a month personal training with Compel Fitness inside a local gym in Bellingham, boy that was a mistake. I wanted to discuss my options since I have never had a personal trainer. I sat down skeptical becuause I thought they would try to sell me on a ton of stuff I didn't need. I spoke to Matt the district director, I clearly laid out what I was looking for, someone to help me with nutrition, accountability and muscle toning. Matt told me that his trainers live to help people. That with my training sessions I would be geting everything I wanted. He contiued to elaborate that my trainer would want me to email or text them everyday of the food I consumed that day. The trainer would check to see that I am in the gym at least 4 days a week and call me if I wasn't. I told him that I was not new to fitness and that I would need someone to aid me in a balanced fitness routine and eaing habbits. I went through a free fitness assestment which I felt Matt knew what he was talking about in what muscles needed to be strengthened and which ones didn't in order to make me entire body toned. I was excited for $54 a month I can change my life for good. Needless to say I recieved none of what was pomised. I think a 20 min workout for $54 is rediculous and just sent a request to cancel my contract. I would not have signed up just for the training aspect. I can put myself through a vigorous workout myself for free, it was all the extras that was promised that I was on board for. I hope Matt will honor his word and cancel my contract and if they try and charge me a $250 cancel fee as others have reported then I will get my attorney involved.

Hi, I signed up for bi monthly sessions, and so far I'm not impressed. I agree that 30 minutes is not enough for 48 dollars a session. Even in my contract that they emailed to me, it doesn't say anything about an early cancellation fee. I'm already regretting my decision after 2 sessions. I still have 24 to go, and they are so dodgy when you ask them about refunds or even changing the plan.
What did you end up doing?
Did you have to pay a cancellation fee?
I wish it was just a month to month thing like the memebership like the gym membership

Spoke to GM & he blamed me!

I waited a week after sending a certified letter to Compel Fitness in Bellingham, WA. I did not recieve a letter, email or phone call from them. I then called them and spoke to Jake the manager, he said I would have to pay $250.00 cancellation fee. I said that I will not pay, and that he needed to talk to the powers that be, to ensure this. I then recieved a call from Matt the GM who sweet talked me into the contract in the first place and I calmly explained to him why I wanted to cancel.
Matt proceeded to blame me for not calling him in order to get nutritonal advice, workout routines and daily diet check ins. I asked why would I call him, when he told me the day I signed the contract that I would be getting all these services from my trainer. He continued to argue with me and as the discussion got heated I told him that I won't argue with him. He said okay I will talk to corporate and hung up on me. That was 7 days ago and I have not heard anything. Compel Fitness is a joke, they promise you everything and deliver the very bare minimum if that. Save your money and hire a private trainer.
