I registered for deal dog web based software from connected investors.  It was supposed to show real estate for sale on a map, and then have lilstings of each property for sale lower on the screen.  The software never displayed the map or the listings.  I contacted the company on their PM system.  They responed that they would "look into it."   this was from a Matt Ondish.  After hearing nothing for several days, I contacted them again via email at support@connectedinvestors.com and asked for a refund.  I received an email from Matt Ondish saying I had never contacted them and that I only had 3 days to request a refund.  I replied to the email and send the records of my first request and his first response, "We'll look into it."  Now they don't respond, so I have initiated a chargeback through my credit card.  Beware!

FYI. There are local, State and Federal laws protecting consumers regarding fair and reasonable refund time frames for products and services.

Stated or not, 3 days is not and does not allow enough time to evaluate a product and make an informed decision after a purchase of a product or service. That being the reasonable understanding behind the consumer law.

The law is in place protecting consumers from this type of misrepresentation, misunderstanding (No Fault inncident) and allows "ALL PURCHASES"  public or private, the consumer has the RIGHT to return any purchase for any reason within 30 days of the origional date of purchase for a full refund.

This is in place to protect consumers and give them reasonable time to investigate and rethink a purchase decision made either not fully informed at the time of the purchase or due to a purchase now or lose out tactic.

It is not meant to punish the seller or service provider, but to protect the consumer and give what is considered reasonable time to inquire and change a purchase decision if applicable. Legitimate businesses have no issue with this law... Food for thought.

Note: You can not return broken merchandise that was not damaged in shipping. or expect a refund when a service has been used for 30 days and then decide to get a refund. After 30 days it is considered the consumer who did not do their investigation and is now not (in some cases) eligable for a refund.

That is not the end all of the refund Law but the basic understanding in short.

If a service is sold to meet a stated standard and clearly does not, the 30 day rule can and in most cases (once proven) will always allow the consumer a full refund...

With regards to the Connected Investors' Deal Dog program not working properly, there was advice given to the customer that they should try to use a different web browser and/or check their current browser settings. We gave suggestions as to what may be the problem on the customer's end with regards to their specific browser settings, and that changing a few of these settings should fix the issue they were presented with. 

With regards to the refund policy for the program, this customer purchased the ReallyFlip Now program from Connected Investors, and it is very clearly stated on the purchase page that the full program has a three day refund policy ( http://ReallyFlipNow.com ). It is also stated in the Terms of Service document, which every customer digitally signs to indicate their acceptance of the Terms of Use when they first log in to their account after purchase ( http://connectedinvestors.com/content/terms-of-use )

With every purchase, the customer is presented with the Terms of Use document which they accept as a condition of purchase, and we also obtain an electronic signature from the customer to ensure acceptance of the terms. It seems the Terms of Use may not have been properly read in this case. In any event, we apply policy consistently in all cases as spelled out in section 5 of the Terms of Use, under refund policy.

5. Refunds..... Connected Investors will honor refund requests for the Really Flip Now (RF) program within the first 3 days from the date of purchase. All refund requests must occur and be documented by Connected Investors within 3 days from the date purchase and be tied to a specific marketing promotion. After the 3 day return window, any sales that result from marketing promotions ARE FINAL AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED. There will be no exceptions made to this policy and all other refund requests will be denied..........There are NO REFUNDS for any apps, content or services that are immediately available for download upon purchase, with the exception of purchases of the Real Estate Riches Today and Really Flip Now programs noted above.

We have a copy of the signed Terms of Use on file from this purchase, and will be glad to provide it upon request. Our policy is simple and plainly stated. We will gladly grant refunds 100% of the time within the policy parameters, with all sales being final once that period has expired.

We are glad to provide support and troubleshooting should the member choose to continue with their subscription to Deal Dog.
