My husband and I were looking to take out a morgage on our home, we had seen a commercial on t.v featuring Bob Villa we called the number on the bottom of the screen, what a mistake, at the time we were somewhat desperate to save our credit so we consolidated our credit card bills and borrowed for home improvements,
We purchased out home in 1995 for $16,000.00 from HUD, In 2001 Conseco hired a crooked appraiser and appraised our home at $128,000.00 quite a jump in value, our payments are $1,150.43 per month
Due to the economic conditions in our area it has become diffacult to make our payments, my wife contacted Conseco for help, we have been turned down for help, they call everyday several times a day and hang up, they called my cell phone 6 to 7 times within just a few minutes and hang up I had to have my number changed
We have been overcharged on late fees, they have taken money from our checking account causing approx. 14 checks to bounce
these people are the slime of the earth and being in the home improvement trade we will let all our customers know about Conseco's crooked and underhanded dealings

MY HUSBAND AND I FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST CONSECO WITH THE NEW YORK STATE BANKING DEPARTMENT, AND THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE, STATING THAT CONSECO DISREGUARDED OUR ABILITY TO REPAY THE LOAN (I WAS INSTRUCTED TO BLACK OUT LINES ON OUR INCOME TAX RECORDS) AND I PROVIDED 6 MONTHS OF BANK STATEMENTS, I FELT THAT WHEN CONSECO HIRED THE APPRAISER, CORTES & ASSOCIATES,LLC, THAT THE APPRAISER OVER VALUED OUR HOME
CONSECO RESPONDED TO OUR COMPLAINT, NUMBER 1, CONSECO ADDED UP OUR BANK DEPOSITS CALLING THAT VERIFIED INCOME AND STATED THAT THIS TYPE OF VERIFICATION IS STANDARD IN THE LENDING INDUSTRY,(ACCORDING TO HUD, THIS IS PREDATORY LENDING) CONSECO ALSO STATED THEY VERIFIED OUR INCOME THROUGH THEIR "NO INCOME VERIFICATION" PROGRAM,
NUMBER 2 OUR HOME WAS APPRAISED IN 1998 FOR $66,000, CONSECO APPRAISED OUR HOME IN 1999 AT $126,800, ON THE ADVISE OF THE FAIR HOUSING COUNCIL WE HAD ANOTHER APPRAISAL DONE, OUR HOME APPRAISED AT $62,000, (MAY 2003), CONSECO'S APPRAISERS MORE THAN DOUBLED THE VALUE OF OUR HOME
IAM WORKING WITH A WOMAN AT THE FAIR HOUSING COUNCIL, WHEN I ADDRESSED MY ISSUES WITH CONSECO SHE MENTIONED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR GOING AFTER THE APPRAISERS IN COURT, WHEN I HEAR BACK FROM HER I WILL SEND IN ANOTHER UPDATE
